Essential Filters

The essentials zone filters provides all the most critical filters and controls you will need to use for ZoneVue Pro.

  • ZoneScore

    • The ZoneScore combines various data points including volume, price action and other variables to form a composite score. You can control the creation of zones using our unique score system that will quickly allow you to see what zones may be the best to trade against.

    • Default is 5

    • Recommended: 10

  • Close Above or Below Previous Highs/Lows

    • This setting only permits zones to be drawn when price breaks above the previous market highs or lows of the day.

    • This is a powerful setting that will keep you focused on zones that matter and will not show any zones that are going against the trend as well.

    • Enabling may significantly reduce the # of zones shown. It will show zones that were a result of price breakouts, which can be the ideal place to enter.

    • The low or high is determined during market hours as specified in this indicator

  • Min # of prior candles price must break above/below

    • This setting allows you to manually specify how many prior candles price must break above or drop below in order to trigger the creation of a zone.

  • Aggressive Mode

    • By default, ZoneVue Pro will only display zones that conform to 4 types of zone formations. Drop base Drop, Drop base Rally, Rally base Rally and Rally base Drop.

    • Enabling Aggressive Mode will allow you to see additional zones formed by explosive move candles that do not fit within the 4 types of formations.

    • Aggressive mode will show more zones, but they may be of lesser quality and price may be less likely to pivot at that zone.

    • To make aggressive mode show higher quality zones, increase the explosive factor setting.

  • Use High/Low for zones

    • This will draw the zones around the high and low of the basing candle

    • Disabling will cause the zone to be drawn around the low or high of the basing candle and the base of the wick.

      • For supply zones, the zone will be draw around the high and base of the wick

      • For demand zones, the zone will be drawn around the low and base of the wick

    • Enabling zones to be drawn around the high and low of the basing candle will increase chances of a filled order but increased risk

    • Disabling will reduce chances of getting filled but will reduce risk

  • Explosive Factor

    • The higher the value, the higher quality of zones shown when aggressive mode is enabled

    • When aggressive mode is not enabled, changing this value will have no effect on the zones shown

  • Limit Zone Creation to market hours

    • This will force the creation of zones to be within the market hours time frame as specified in the settings of the indictor.

    • This can be effective in eliminating zones formed during pre or after market hours that may not be as quality of zones and price may break through easier due to lower volume.

  • Hide Supply/Demand zones

    • This allows you to show only a certain type of zone, creating better focus, especially on days where the market is clearly trending in a certain direction

  • Trend Filter

    • This is a powerful option and will attempt to filter out zones that are going against the trend. This trend filter works by using the 100 day EMA.

    • A blue EMA line will be drawn by default on your chart. You can remove by going into the indicator or strategy and setting the color to transparent in the plots section at the very bottom of your settings window

        • NOTE: If a zone is formed at the time price is below the EMA, that zone will remain visible, even if price goes above the EMA later.
